Have been coming to the Coliseum for years, so tells everyone a lot about what I think. Conveniently located on the beach so the choice is beach or pool. Staff is very friendly and the place is kept clean. The reason I gave it 4/5 stars...not 5, is because it needs some updating. The carpets need replacing, and some of the tiles are broken or need replacing. Not to dwell on the negatives but don't expect to get the TV stations you get at home. It is just basic cable - maybe less. But I will be going back at least in 2020. And the Wifi is inconsistent But we were on a family vacation so it is all good!
I've been staying at the Coliseum since 2007, and it's one of my favorite hotels in Wildwood. Rooms and bedding are always clean, electrical outlets are safe, the staff is friendly and reliable, and their rates - especially in the offseason - are quite good for those of us watching our budgets. It's in a safe and family-friendly part of Wildwood, right next to the beach. The basic room is very good for up to 2 people. When I stayed here a few times with a parent, the room separation worked well. If someone wanted to bring a laptop and get some work done, there's enough space and separation in the kitchen where one could use the kitchen table as a mini-workstation while the other can go to sleep.
My only complaint is the weak wifi and almost non-existent cell phone reception on the 2nd floor. My provider is Straight Talk (using Verizon's network), and I would have to go to my car to check for text messages or use apps...quite a concern if you are a fantasy football enthusiast and you need a solid data plan to make quick decisions. I had no issues with cell phone coverage on the third floor. Some of these issues may be on Straight Talk, so Lord willing I may have a different review next year.
