This is a two-story walk-up, which is not mentioned anywhere in their website! No need to say I was quite surprised when I checked-in with my 50lb bag in the car. But, the front desk kindly called for someone to take my bag up when I checked-in and to carry it down when I was leaving. So, no elevator ended up not being a hassle. Although, if you have a problem with stairs, this is not the place for you. Had a small room of new gym equipment. So, you can get a decent cardio workout while here. Free breakfast provided was very limited and alternated between very thin bacon and unidentifiable breakfast sausage each day with powdered scrambled eggs, plenty of breads/muffins, and make your own waffle station. 24-hr coffee/tea station was available. Hotel tends to be damp and vents need cleaning. But, NO mildew smell; otherwise, I would not have been able to stay here. Very nice remodeled rooms! Still working on remodeling rooms. Room 212 was a comfortable quiet double room.
We checked in with a gentlemen who was very nice during the check in process. He gave us instructions to get to the room, where to park the car, and told us about breakfast buffet in the lobby the next morning. But one major detail he forgot to tell us was that they were doing construction in the room right next door to us. When my boyfriend called to complain, he was told construction will be going on from 8am until 5pm every day because they were renovating the rooms. So I walked over to the room, and on my way I noticed another room, just like mine was vacant and being cleaned (room 124.) so I ask the front desk agent who previously was very nice, if he could switch our room. He laughed at me and told me “sweetie, my hands are tied I don’t know what you want me to do, I can change your room and put you on another floor but it’s a smaller room” he also gave me the GM’s card and told me I could call him. I asked him about the vacant room I saw being cleaned, and he told me it was occupied. Boldly lied in my face. I went back to my room and tried calling the GM. When I did that, the guy from the front desk answered. No compensations were offered for having to deal with the construction next door. Needless to mention, we checked out before 8am.
Room bed sheets and pillow cases also were dirty and I found hair all over the bathroom. When the housekeepers showed up to change the bed sheets they were not friendly. I asked them to also change the pillow cases because they still had make up stains from the previous guest. And the housekeeper who’s hair was red like a candy apple, had the nerve to tell me “I don’t know what’s your problem because we don’t do that here.” I was unsure why she gave me attitude, as a guest I shouldn’t have to ask you to change the bed sheets upon arrival. I will NEVER go back.
