Missing Manager

by Walter M

Stayed at this hotel for a 3 day family reunion. The initial check in went okay...after finding the hotel, way back off the road (they really need a sign at the road)......went down hill after that. We arrived with a bus load of family members and many cars. Needless to say, we had a lot of people staying at this hotel. From my understanding, the coordinator of the reunion had been in contact with the hotel manager for about 9 to 10 months and was informed of different activities that were to take place while we stayed at the hotel. There were activities planned at the hotel the second day that we were there but the staff had no idea what was going on. Since there were plenty of kids, there was a pool party planned with a DJ but we were told that we could not have music in the pool area and that there must be 1 adult present for every child that was in the pool. Not sure where they do that at. The second thing was that we were going to cook hotdogs on the grill during the pool party and the only grill that was available was a small charcoal grill that could probably hold 10 maybe 12 hotdogs at one time (we had more than 400 hotdogs). The staff was asked to contact the hotel manager because she knew what was planned. We were told by a couple of different staff members that they had tried to call the hotel manager but could not reach her (This was a Friday morning). During the next couple of days, the staff was asked if they had heard from the manager and each time they told us that they could not get in touch with her. The other issues that took place was that we were told by one staff member that they did not have enough towels and that we needed to turn in towels for them to wash and bring back to the rooms. We then were told by another staff member that if any towels were missing after our stay that we would get charged for them. Oh, did I mention that when the towels were returned that they were wet....hummmm, washed or not.....that is the question. Many of the rooms had a pull out sofa but you had to get the linens for them at the front desk. Well the first night we were told that they had ran out of pillows so many of the families went to the local Wal-Mart and bought pillows. We let the staff know that pillows were brought, in case they wanted to charge us for taking them after our stay. Upon our departure on Sunday morning, we still had not heard from the hotel manager. Now, rather they really tried calling her or they did and she just did not answer, guest we will never know. We were told that it was common for them not to be able to get in touch with the manager when they need her. Comfort Inn....HOPE YOU FIND YOUR MISSING MANAGER!!

Did not feel safe when getting out of car heading into the hotel. May need more parking lot lighting due to the location of the hotel. Other than that I could not have asked for anything more pleasant.
