VERY uncomfortable.

by josiahflores15

I checked in and was given a neat room, but the ac didn’t work on a 90° day. I was given a different room which turned out worse. It was humid, reeked of mildew, had no ac, and when I went to take a shower there were bugs and geckos in the shower. That same night when I asked to change rooms again I was told all the rooms were like that because “it’s summer”. I talked to the manager the next day and was ultimately given a full refund.

Never Again

Specifically Room 204 was NOT clean. I checked the bed and fold out for bugs and the linens appeared clean. We had 2 fluffy towels and two threadbare towels so I understand they are likely replacing their inventory as they can. I am understanding about this. I have a few threadbare towels in my home that I repurpose to cleaning rags or dog bath towels, etc. Some of these need to join the ranks of cleaning rags rather than guest towels but that's forgivable to me. What is not is the complete lack of cleanliness. Behind the fold up couch bed was a red stain on the wall of something spilled or puked and allowed to run down the wall. Behind the nightstands where I was looking for electric plugs and bugs was dust. No one has ever run a vacuum attachment back there. Longer than 6 months for that accumulation to occur. There is mold on the ceiling in the bath tub like the room above is leaking right over the tub which makes you question if the tub above is going to fall on your head. The water temperature is reversed. You get lava if you select C and you get almost too warm if you select H. There is rust in the bottom of the tub by the drain. The floor tiles are cracked and a section that looked like it had tile up the side of the wall next to the tub like you find in many commercial bathrooms was completely missing with that ugly orange glue left behind on the wall so that it attracts your attention to it. You have to hold the toilet handle to flush it. The pool didn't have enough towels to appease the towel hogs who took 3 or 4 each. They are also very small. My daughter got sick after being in the pool. Enough so that we ended up at the Abilene ER to get an rx nausea med because the one I carried with us wouldn't stay down. The Dr there told us that it isn't uncommon in pools that aren't cleaned well for little ones who are more likely to swallow the water to get a transmissible virus. My face had a few breakouts that are now highly inflamed and sensitive. I've never had that experience from a pool and we did bathe afterward which is why I noticed all the issues in the bathroom. I spent an hr in there between two kids and myself. The pull out bed was broken and uneven. The cloth was ripped where the bent frames no longer fit into the couch. The couch was unable to be sat on because the bed wouldn't fully seat down into it. The cushions had stains I saw when I got close enough to put the sheets on it we had to request though my booking clearly said 4. I feel like the lady in the evening doesn't have any staff to help with these things. When we arrived and I asked for sheets when we passed by to go get dinner, I really expect them to say we'll have the crib and pull out made up for you before you return. For this price, this is what I expect. If I wanted Motel 6 service, I would have paid $55 for a room instead. My husband had told me he'd never had an issue with Comfort Inn during his travels and that's why I selected them. This one is the first disappointment we've experience. For $145 with taxes and whatnot for one night, absolutely NOT worth it at all. After walking barefoot in the room carrying my sick daughter to the bathroom several times, my feet were almost black! I always have the heebie jeebies in ER's because I know about the germs and always wonder if folks clean well enough but I felt comfortable holding my baby on the bed there and it was because of how dirty the hotel was. We should have forfeited the money and just come back home for all the good this hotel did us. Please please please find somewhere else until they've done repairs.
