Steer Clear of this property

by Tony M

Steer clear of this joint. It is individually owned and operated, which if you have an issue with this property, Marriott's hands are tied and you are at the mercy of what this management team decides.

Good luck if you have an issue and need to resolve it. They hire front desk clerks who barely know the business and make up rules as they go.

Pick another hotel, trust me.

No Alcohol in a Hawaiian Resort?

by johnahefti

At first glance this is a large seemingly modern Marriott Courtyard. It has a large spacious lobby which is linked to the bistro where you can purchase food. It also has nice gardens and pool.
In reality, it is just a whole lot of wasted space.
Getting to the beach requires a short walk and crossing a busy road.
The beach, while very narrow was a nice experience and was not crowded.

Checkin experience:
My wife tried to check in while I parked the car and was told they needed the person who made the reservation to check in.
Meanwhile another couple slipped in ahead of me and I patiently waited at least 10 minutes while they asked every imaginable question about the area and facilities and then were given fresh flower Leis.
When they finally acknowledged my presence they asked me for my ID & my credit card and was informed parking was extra.
I walked off wondering what happened to my Lei!
The bistro was inadequately supplied: Many of the menu items we tried to order were not available. (Truck was coming after we were scheduled to leave)
The ‘Starbucks coffee my I ordered my first morning tasted awful - sort of burnt like it was kept overnight. I didn’t bother asking for a refill.

My biggest disappointment came when I inquired about ‘Happy Hour’:
That is when I was informed the hotel had no liquor license!!
Imagine that: one of two hotel resorts on the North Shore of Hawaii does not serve alcohol!
What a bunch of crap! That is a little tidbit of information that should be known BEFORE you book your Hawaiian Vacation there!
In fairness the staff was very friendly but overall the service was not up to the standards of the Courtyard chain.
I was disappointed and will not be returning.
