I recently checked out of this place after a weekend stay.when I went to check the balance on my credit card,I discovered these people had taken $250! They had charged me this fee for smoking in the room!(this is a smoke free hotel.)when i called and asked about this charge they said they had found evidence that new or my guest had smoked in the room.they also said out was weed.well this went I for over a month,me trying to get my money back as i knew NO ONE smoked it that room!it's still going on.I asked for their proof and was told they had pics.well i wanted to see those.they said they would send them.4days later,still no pics.i called my card company to dispute this charge and discovered they had put back some but not all my money.THEY have no proof!they just stoled my money because they could. I will never stay here again !Thieves odd what they are.The general manager couldn't even take the time to answer my questions.He had some woman call me.My money will be returned in full,my card company assures me. Check your receipts before leaving our when you get home.Don't let them do this to you.these people must be stopped!

I have stayed at this location multiple times since it has been opened. However the room are starting to look very subpar for Marriott standards. The first room I given smelled like mildew. The second room the AC doesn’t work and in the Charleston summer it’s not comfy when you can’t adjust the AC less than 77. I was told no more rooms was available, “Imma have to just deal with it”! So unacceptable!!!! In addition the shower has mildew around the head and black crud around it! I’m highly disappointed that management is not ensuring that housekeeping stay abreast of these filthy areas. I really hope Courtyard get it together or my future visits won’t be spent in Summerville!!
