Tip: Ask for a room facing Seaworld so you can enjoy their firework displays. I had a great view from the balcony.
The room and bathroom were clean and as you would expect for a mid-range hotel. The AC was very noisy – annoying! There was a small fridge which came in handy.
I visited this property on a 4 night stay for business. It was very clean and quiet. I checked in late on a Sunday with Departure on a Thursday afternoon.
My Marriott status was recognized immediately which I usually take as a sign that hotel staff are trained well, especially at 11pm at night.
The week of my visit was exceedingly hot, at least for me. Temps were over 90 when I checked in at 11pm. The room was warm when I checked in but quickly cooled off. I am from Michigan but not equipped to deal with high temps.
I headed out the next day early in the afternoon. I returned around 9 pm to find the AC not functioning in my room. I immediately called the front desk to request a new room as temps were over 80 in the room. The front desk manager that night was less than helpful. He eventually sent someone from Engineering/maintenance to come up and take a look.
At some point during the day there was a leak in one of the room from 210, 310, 410. I was in 410. Apparently someone had entered my room for a leak issue and unplugged the AC. I wasn’t informed of a repair or told someone entered my room.
I was not happy. The manager on duty was no help when I asked to move rooms. I called Marriott corporate. They gave the courtesy points and promised to investigate.
The next morning I expected a call but apparently my old number was still on file from 5 years ago. I spoke with the assistant manager. She listened to my concerns and agreed to give me points to compensate for the night and as late as a checkout as I needed Thursday. When I got back to my room, the maintenance department had left a gift for me as well(pictured below). This is probably the farthest a Marriott has gone when they’ve made a error. They completely turned around a poor start to my stay.
I would stay here again.
