The Cranmore Inn has been a guesthouse for over 150 years, ever since the railroad first started bringing summer visitors to North Conway. It is well-kept for its age, with clean, cheery décor and modern amenities including a sizeable outdoor pool and hot tub. The grounds include a large backyard for running around, and most of the rooms can accommodate up to four guests on double queen beds or sleep sofas. The inn also includes several larger suites that can accommodate six people, as well as an apartment complete with kitchenette.

Beautiful inn

We recently returned from a great stay at Cranmore Inn. First, I have to say that everything was clean, and this is huge for me. I have been known to travel with cleaning wipes and to use them if things don't appear to be clean, and I'm happy to report that all cleaning supplies stayed in our bag throughout our stay. Upon check-in the innkeepers gave us all of the information we would need for our stay - times of breakfast, where everything is, etc. They were clear and thorough. The downstairs has a sitting room that is perfect for quietly reading, and they have board games available for guests as well. The breakfast room is beautiful, as is the backyard - they even have swings which my kids were very happy to see and use. There is a pool (again, perfectly clean) and a fire pit. Due to our plans during our stay we didn't get to use those, but we did spend time in the backyard which is also completely fenced in - a great touch to help us feel like we were in a peaceful secluded area. The front of the inn has a spacious porch with comfortable rocking chairs - another great place to sit and read or drink coffee. The inn itself is right down the street from shopping and restaurants, and Christopher was very helpful in helping us choose restaurants for dinner - even calling for us to see if one was open. One thing to note about breakfast is that they were not able to substitute eggs in place of the bacon or sausage option as a protein for us since three of us don't eat meat. To be fair, before our arrival I *did* receive an email that stated we should call in advance with any dietary needs. I didn't call because I saw that scrambled eggs were on the menu as an entrée so I assumed we could get one as a side substitute, but I wonder if I had let them know in advance maybe they could have planned to accommodate us. So I would say that if you have any dietary needs at all, even if they seem small to you, you should probably call in advance. We really had a lovely stay, and I would love to return - but I would call ahead to see if there is anything they can adjust for us for breakfast so that we could have a protein with the pancake and waffle options. All in all a great stay!
