We were caught up in the BA problems in August and our flight to Heathrow was cancelled due to previous day's problems. BA put us up in the Crown Plaza in Quarto d'altino.
We were not expecting much but the hotel and staff were superb and took away a lot of the stress of the situation. The rooms were very comfortable and typical Crown Plaza standard. We needed a drink after a very long and frustrating day and the hotel bar was excellent and drinks very reasonable. The hotel then aid on a superb all-you-can-eat buffet for us of great Italian food.
The hotel is located in a very rural area outside Venice with a train station at the rear. It would be an ideal base to explore the city and surrounding countryside and, as it is not in Venice itself, is very reasonable.
We would stay there again instead of the city.
