One Our Most Favorite Campgrounds

by rustoleum2k

During our 2-week trip to the southwest, this was perhaps our most favorite campground, or at the very least one of our favorites. Set among amazing rock formations, this campground has no bad sites to pitch a tent or park an SUV - This is because all sites are along a single road so there is never anyone behind you to obstruct the amazing views. You are also near Skyline Arch as well as several popular trails/hikes. Every evening there are ranger programs at an amphitheater located in the campground, on different topics (the evening we were there the topic was "wilderness"). With limited light pollution and clear air, this is a great place to watch the night-sky. They also sell firewood but it is rather expensive so best to buy it in Moab if possible.

Stars shine brightly

Beautiful night sky. Not like any city sky millions or billions of stars. Children and adults all have fun in what we came to call our camp site's back yard. When you add the trails and arches it has become our favorite vacation spot.
