Disneyland
Once upon a classic year (1955 to be exact), Marilyn dominated the silver screen, Elvis was in full swivel and Mr. Walt Disney had a novel idea. His dream, what many initially called “Walt’s folly,” wildly transformed the American entertainment scene, and immediately enchanted young and old. Walt purchased 160 acres of orange trees rooted in quiet Anaheim, Calif., rolled up his sleeves, and Disneyland was born. Today, that original, beloved park is now just a part of what is now the Disneyland Resort, which includes the Disneyland Park, the Disneyland Hotel, California Adventure, Downtown Disney, the Grand Californian Hotel and the Paradise Pier Hotel.

Because the parks are so vast and the rides, restaurants, shows, parades and shopping so numerous, we’ve created a list of treasures that we think represent the best of what the Disneyland Resort has to offer families. You may also want to see our Walt Disney World destination section.
