Older property but nicely kept up. Enjoyable stay!

My spouse and I went on an overnight getaway to Holland over a weekend in October 2019 as a way of celebrating our wedding anniversary. For a long time I'd been wanting to stay here, so this was my chance!

Overall we had a very nice stay. We arrived early on a Saturday afternoon. Our check-in process was very quick. Our room (#136) was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed having easy access to the pool area.

This hotel has some nice amenities... a restaurant/bar onsite, a business center for guests who need to use a computer, and more. The pool/hot tub area was great and the ping pong table was a nice touch.

My spouse is a Gold-status Hilton Honors member. As such, we were able to partake of the breakfast buffet. The food from the buffet was okay but was nothing worth writing home about. We were a bit disappointed that they didn't have any of the made-to-order omelettes that some of Hilton/Doubletree properties often have. Also, we were sitting at one of the booths where the light bulbs were out. The nice lady working there was trying to change the light bulbs for us but was not having any luck, so it was a bit darker in our booth than it should have been... but no biggie.

Despite the breakfast being less than stellar, we truly enjoyed our stay at this Doubletree. I'd love the opportunity to stay there again.

Not up to snuff for a DoubleTree - Poor Value

The hotel was completely over-run by young hockey teams. This included them playing hockey in the corridors adjacent to the lobby and in front of our guest rooms. The staff didn't address this even when it was brought to their attention.

I paid for a "junior suite" which was totally inadequate and shouldn't be billed as such. When I made the reservation over the phone, I was told that there would be a sofa and additional seating. The only additional furniture in addition to the bed was a single chair and desk.

The room wasn't clean. The bathroom had a lot of old dirt in the tile and the transition between the carpet and tile was disgusting.

I paid for breakfast, even though it seemed that most guests had vouchers. I booked six rooms and am an honors member. Why would other guests have them and we didn't? My experience in other Hiltons is that vouchers are presented to honors members or people who book multiple rooms.

On the bright side, dinner in the hotel restaurant was surprisingly good. There were too few staff and so service was slow, but the food was excellent.

We certainly did not receive value for the money that was spent.

Oh, and we were promised cookies that never appeared.
