This is by far the best place to stay in Socorro. We travel here frequently and this is only place we will stay now. They have done a lot to improve their whole hotel. The rooms are clean, and huge! The staff are nice and helpful . We usually stay at nicer hotels when we travel, but that is not available in Socorro. This is a secret gem though, and the price is great for what you are getting. A previous reviewer wrote that the pricing structure is inconsistent, but the rates go up, along with all the other hotels, during busy times. To the management of the hotel: Great job guys, keep up the great work!

When we pulled in to this Econo Lodge my heart sank. Right next to the main drag through the city and directly opposite Walmart across a junction. The building looks a bit run down and tatty. How wrong I was. The room (king) was much bigger and more comfortable than any other room we've had in a Choice Hotel this road trip. A tale and two chairs. Good lights. Microwave and decent sized fridge. Shower and bath all fine. Windows on either side, making for much more pleasant lighting. Bed extremely comfortable. Internet completely reliable and no annoying overnight log-out. Despite the road which our room faced on to we heard nothing all night and had one of the best nights' sleep of the trip. No, this isn't the Four Seasons in NYC, it's an Econo Lodge in Socorro so I am not suggesting this is unsurpassed luxury. but as Econo Lodges go it's a helluva lot better than most. We thought the breakfast would be a let down but, no, even that was better than most - they even had fresh blueberries. All in all, highly recommended despite the location and outside appearance, You could do a whole lot worse - believe me. I have given it 5 stars for value for money compared to equivalents. Why it's only an Econo Lodge I do not know.
