Dinner on the patio

by Venture754838

I made a reservation to have dinner on the patio for the last evening of live music for the summer. Our daughter was visiting from out of town and one of her best friends joined us for dinner last night.
The weather was perfect last night and the music was good.
We were somewhat disappointed with our server. She didn’t check on us during the evening. We constantly had to ask for drink refills and she was extremely slow. Dishes weren’t cleared away and cutlery was missing. She was clearly overwhelmed with being a server. She is not in keeping with the usual high caliber wait staff.
With regards to the food, the majority of what we ordered was very good.
My husband ordered foie gras for his appetizer. It didn’t taste very good and had a very gritty taste. He shared his concerns with our server. She didn’t comment in any way. Again, not in keeping with the usual high caliber of wait staff.
We have been regular customers at the Elm Hurst for many years. Hopefully the server will have opportunity to improve her skills.

Delicious food — misleading menu

by BobiTychynskiShimoda

We had a delicious meal at this restaurant. It was selected for its clearly marked gluten free options as I have celiac. Unfortunately, the items are not actually gluten free and significant modifications were required to my meal as a result. Needless to say this was disappointing. Our waitress was wonderful and professional and clearly felt bad that we were disappointed. The waitress and restaurant went above and beyond to make us as happy as possible given the situation. Overall, the food was very good especially the creme brûlé. My husband had the ravioli and I had the pork tenderloin.

Great service and great food. Hopefully you’ll straighten out your gluten free items so they are available as listed in the menu.
