So Disappointing......Teeny Tiny Bathroom.... Spongy Tub....Dated Room,furniture......Band Aid Refresher

by Beverley S

After spending one night at the Inn at Diamond Cove, coming to this hotel was such a disappointment.Staying at the Inn required us taking a ferry because no cars are allowed on the island. Not knowing the Portland area we thought it would be easier to stay at the Embassy Suites because we wanted to do more sightseeing.

Entering the beautiful lobby there was a musky smell, I tried to overlook it because it was a good looking lobby.
The check in lady (sorry, don't remember her name) was very pleasant. The check in process went well.
Taking the elevator to the room, hallway was clean and nicely lit.
Opening the door to the room I was not impressed.
I guess they tried to 'refresh' but it did not work.

Carpeting was old, furniture was old, couch was small and stained.
Bedroom was small, the bed by the window was so tight I used the foot of the bed to get into the bed.
The worst part of this suite was the bathroom.Small tub, no space between the tub and the toilet,
shower head was low.If you're tall,forget about it,no adjusting.
Turning around in the bathroom you're hitting the wall.
Getting into the tub,you have to step up, getting out you have to be careful how you step down.
The tub was spongy as if your're on a trampoline.
The air conditioner was very loud.
Breakfast was the typical fare, staff was very nice, happy hour was also nice.
I would not recommend this hotel if you're looking for a modern room.

Nice hotel, nice breakfast
