Nice hotel

by carlandlorraine

Stayed for 3 nights, check in very efficient.
Room very spacious and appeared clean on first inspection, later found the toilet was stained under the rim also again on bath under the taps( admittedly I only spotted this while lying in the bath)
A few things missing from listed items ,no dental set or or shaving set,but as we had our own it didn't really matter.
Only 1 large towel on first night ,informed reception who were very apologetic and another was bought.
General cleanliness of the hotel was good except a large stain on the carpet on the 4th floor corridor.
Light broken in wardrobe, informed reception and a maintenance man came but couldn't fix it.
Huge bed in the room and very comfortable.
Only powdered milk in the beverage making facilities which is ok for coffee but us English people like "proper tea" so we went to the nearby supermarket to buy milk.
Breakfast was great, plenty of choice and always kept restocked.
Free umbrellas in reception was a nice touch.
Pool was nice,a bit small but fine. Nice sauna.
Special thanks go to the lady on reception,I think her name was Charlotte, she was very helpful when we were asking about tickets for public transport.
Overall very pleasant hotel but with a few slight niggles.

Set a few things straight

Quick review but read some odd things before I came here. Just stayed 3 nights for a weekend break.
Had read before that the shower was bad with hot and cold - yes it did a little but just move the dual a little bit. No big deal
Had read the room dirty and shower - no where near dirty on our floor. Cleaner guys where fantastic chaps
Had read the breakfast was limited - no where near limited. So many types of bread I couldn't count. All so fresh they where still warm. Lots and lots (10 or more) of types of cheese, ham, fruit, and then as many jams, juices, hot drinks, even lots of bottles of prosecco if you wanted (seemed a weekend thing that one - perfect). They had all the usual cooked breakfast foods, eggs where OK, couscous, beans, two types of great bavarian sausages, hash browns. Complain about this range, you clearly live in ultra first class with the gods day to day
Pool and facilities - awesome sauna, freezing water fountain shower and what seemed a salt water pool. Be careful the slippy floor though. Nice outside terrace on top floor. Gym looked fine for an hotel, I didn't use it.
Location - takes about 35 mins to walk to centre of munich, use the hackerbruke station about 2 minutes walk away. Very easy to get the train to any where. We went to the centre lots and went up to dachau (another story that sadly of course)
Lastly the staff - I'm not into being all best friends with hotel people. Let them do their job and genuine politeness is my way. These people were all fantastic folks. Breakfast people cleaned up efficiently, keeping the area look fresh always, front desk people extremely efficient and professional. Cleaning room folks, knocking politely and coming back if you need them too.

Downside - cluthing straws here.... Could be nice to open the window in room, better english tv stations, conditioner not in the rooms usual offerings, I would of liked the room heater to blast hot air (I like that when after a shower that's all), bed plug sockets where low behind the tables.

All in all, shouldn't be dissatisfied with the hotel so long as you get a good price
