Exuma comes in three parts. Islanders refer to Great Exuma, 40 miles long, as "the mainland." It holds the chain's one airport and the capital city George Town. Most of the destination's resorts cluster around the town and to the north at Emerald Bay.

Little Exuma, 20 miles long, attaches to Great Exuma at its southern end. Two beaches you shouldn't miss are located on Little Exuma: Forbes Hill and Tropic of Cancer. Its ultra-casual beach restaurants make it popular with families.

Exuma Cays comprises 365 small islands accessible only by boat. Some, such as Staniel Cay, hold resorts. Others are natural, beachy, and home to iguanas, swimming pigs, nurse sharks, and other wildlife you can interact with.
