Overview

Perched atop a dune overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, this casual hotel offers guests a choice of traditional rooms, family suites, and spacious cottages, all with private outdoor terraces and many with ocean views. While not a lux resort, the Fire Island Hotel is a peaceful, beachfront haven located at the end of a quiet street in Ocean Bay Park.

In the morning, grab a coffee and a bagel at Bootlegger’s Lobby Lounge before spending the day basking on the soft, white sandy beach just a short stroll down the hotel’s boardwalk. Later, take a swim in the only hotel pool on Fire Island, relax with a cocktail from the poolside tiki bar, or grab some dinner at Hurricane’s Bar and Grill. Everything you’ll need for a beach escape is right here.

A Much Needed Getaway

by terry s

Following a spring/summer of family emergencies and uncertainties, I greatly looked forward once again to my annual post-season respite (going on 40 yrs) to the Fire Island Hotel. I was not disappointed. Normally staying two nights, I was lucky my room was available for a third night (after nine hours travel time). New Manager, Peter, his staff, including Lacey, Olivia & Bret , were more than accommodating and the weather super. My annual trips to the Lighthouse and the Sunken Forest were (as always) a treasure. I look forward to my return in 2020. Thank you!

Beach weekend

Hotel staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. Beach was so close it was worth every penny we spent. Rooms were nothing fancy, we had the 2 room suite. TV wasn't hi def and only had 10 channels but with a pool and the ocean who needs TV anyway. Would definitely go back.
