It’s home to two onsite dining options, the Ocean Grill (which offers great views from its upstairs dining room) and the Tiki Bar, which sits on what remains of the Center Pier (which took a beating from 1996’s Hurricane Fran.) Amenities include indoor and outdoor pools and a fitness center.

Reviews

Overwhelming impressed!

My wife and I came here for our honeymoon. Overwhelmingly impressed. Indoor and outdoor pool. Tiki bar on location with great food and drinks. Friendly staff. Jaime the bartender on the peer gave us complimentary shots. The manager makes one hell of a stiff drink. Clean rooms. I mean clean. We stayed at the Marriot Courtyard down the road and this place put them to shame.

Who Needs WiFi at the beach?

Nowadays, everybody! For your kids’ electronic games, if you’re working, or just to stay in contact with people, post your pictures, and so on. Well, if it is important, stay somewhere else. It was slow at best and I never did get an internet connection on my iPhone or IPad in our 5th floor oceanfront room. Perhaps other locations on the property are better. Our room was adequate for $169/night. It was clean if you don’t mind an old bandaid on the floor, a spider in the bathroom, and a couple stray hairs! Honestly it could have used a better vacuuming. The Keurig coffee maker was nice but only two coffees were provided and there is no free breakfast (which is fine, not complaining). We had a medium size refrigerator and small microwave. The balcony is tiny but big enough for two chairs to sit and watch the pelicans, the surfers, the ships at sea, drink your coffee or wine. The bedding is old but clean and the beds comfortable, pillows so so. The lighting in the bathroom is excellent, very bright. Another plus is having a small safe. Can’t beat the location! Front desk polite and efficient. Oh — I always live a generous tip for the cleaning staff, write a little note. Golden Sands makes it convenient by providing an envelope on the desk with a polite solicitation and staff’s name. First time I saw that. I know this sounds picky. Sorry, but it’s the truth.
