Reviews

Grand Bahia Principe

by Sanjay G

Visited with some friends and our 1 week stay was awesome. Meals, activities, staff/workers...second to none. Hotel rooms were spacious and very user friendly. I speak limited Spanish and that wasn't a problem. Those whom I came in contact with spoke some English or understood English written well enough to make my vacation stressfree.

Great Resort

by 0104161827

Was our second time to DR, first time to Punta Cana. The resort was very well laid out and the grounds were kept in top condition. The staff were very friendly and my wife and I got to know some. The buffet and A La Carte restaurants were amazing, no complaints on food availability and selection. Not many guests realize the work the staff put in for 3 buffets a day. Service was good at the main buffet and beach side buffet. Beach and pool areas were great and could always get a spot at either anytime of the day. I appalled the staff and management for their hard work maintaining the resort and making my wife's and I vacation one to remember. We will defiantly return back to this resort.

Although the official currency is the Dominican peso, the U.S. dollar is widely accepted. You should bring some cash with you for any taxi or unexpected expenses. While Spanish is the official language, English is widely spoken, especially at Grand Bahia Principe Punta Cana.

The Art of Smart Timing
While Grand Bahia Principe Punta Cana experiences year-round temperatures ranging from 82 to 88 degrees Fahrenheit, high humidity can make it feel warmer than the actual air temperature. The Caribbean waters maintain a year-round temperature of 80 degrees Fahrenheit. The property's high season runs from Christmas through Easter, and the low season runs from September through mid-November, when families will find the best room rates.

Getting There
Grand Bahia Principe Punta Cana is approximately a 30-minute drive from Punta Cana International Airport. A one-way taxi ride from the airport to the hotel costs approximately $50. However, the hotel offers a free, shared (with other hotel guests) transfer to the property. To book an airport transfer, after booking your reservation, log into your personal page on the hotel website and select your free transfer. You also have the option to upgrade (for a fee) to a private transfer.

Getting Around
Grand Bahia Principe Punta Cana does not offer any complimentary shuttle service; however, for those golfing during their stay or taking an offsite excursion, round-trip transportation usually is included in the price of the excursion. If you want to explore the local area, plan to pay out-of-pocket for taxi service. Rental cars are available at the airport, but are not recommended unless you are staying for a lengthy vacation and plan to do a lot of your own sightseeing.

For Mom and Dad
For parents traveling with grandparents or taking advantage of the kids' club programs, enjoy some quiet time at the Bahia Spa, where you can enjoy the Special VIP massage for couples that includes time in a private Jacuzzi. Later in the evening, enjoy some dancing at the Congas Bachata Discotheque, or try your luck at the casino.
