Overall, the room and facilities were very clean. However I am giving two stars mainly due to one of the ladies named Tracey who works the front desk. She made it a point to keep telling guests they should have booked with Hilton directly instead of through a "third-party" indicating that you probably got ripped off booking through a third-party. Additionally her rolling of her eyes at guests and telling us that as Hilton Honors Gold members, she could not provide us with a complimentary room upgrade that is included with the program due to a "housekeeping issue". However this was close to 3pm and our room had not even been cleaned yet. Additionally, the sink water in our room nor the sink near the lobby/breakfast area never got warm or hot, thus proper handwashing was insufficient. The ugly view of the storage shed from our room while also having a view of the ocean was also a bit of a downer. Also we all got a terrible night sleep due to the pillows that provide ZERO support. Its not very fun waking up multiple times with your head tilted back super far. I felt like my body and the mattress were the same object due to sinking so far into the pillows. I did not know it was possible to be laying on a pillow and also have the corner of the pillow in my eye due to it being so soft. Its great that complimentary breakfast is provided but not if the fresh fruit is already out by 8am. We had our 1 year old daughter with us and had to try to tell her we had no more fruit to give her. As I said, the location is beautiful and the facilities are overall clean however I feel the customer service of the front desk, the need of additional help during breakfast and the terrible pillows greatly diminished the experience. We will pass on this hotel in the future.
Just completed a very nice weekend stay at the Hampton Inn Pensacola Beach during the "off-season" in November. The front desk staff was absolutely awesome -- quite friendly and welcoming during the check-in process which is always nice after a long day on the road. We found the room to be clean, comfortable and quiet. No issues whatsoever. I noticed other reviewers weren't satisfied with the free breakfast choices and quality, but I didn't find that to be the case at all. The breakfast area is large with plenty of seating and seemed to be stocked with the standard Hampton Inn breakfast items. Don't expect a Champagne Sunday Brunch (you're not paying for it) -- but for a cup of coffee and a bagel, it's fine.
