Overview

This hotel will have you at the lobby. Gorgeous wood floors, wooden beams running overhead, and cozy seating spaces urge you to chillax and sit a spell. The Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Rome is actually a beautifully renovated 1890s warehouse with original wood floors, brick walls, and a large sky-lit atrium.

Guestrooms offer a king bed, two queens, or a queen and a pullout sofa, and rooms have a mini-fridge, a microwave, coffee maker and a flat-screen TV. Upgrade to a king suite that offers more square footage, a pullout sofa and a full kitchen, or a split-level king loft. Some rooms have exposed brick walls.

The property provides a free hot breakfast, free Wi-Fi and free parking. The Hawthorn also has a small salon, small spa, coin-laundry and a fitness room. The onsite dining is open 24/7 in the gorgeous Hawthorn Bar and Lounge and the hotel is just steps from an array of restaurant choices.

Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Rome is 74-miles to Chattanooga, TN, 66-miles to Atlanta, three-miles to Berry College, 2.4-miles to the Chieftains Museum, a ten-minute walk to the Clock Tower in Rome, and three-miles to catch a Rome Braves game (at State Mutual Stadium).

Trip North

Perfect room and the hotel staff was very friendly. The river walk was clean and easy accessibility. Several places to eat within walking distance. The hotel breakfast was hot and tasty. My 3rd time here and it is awesome place to stay.

Best place to stay in Rome

Rome has quite a few "standard chain" hotels. Hawthorne Suites has charm. It is one of the few hotels walking distance from the businesses/restaurants/bars on Broad Street, the Forum and the park and river walk. Our suite had a Bedroom, 2.5 baths and a large living room/kitchen area. Yes, it is more expensive, but it saved us in driving and/or Uber rides.;
