Great Staff / Hotel (Toyota 4runner)

by hanapaahui

The hotel provides for a very relaxed atmosphere where you get a true sense of a Hawaiian vacation.

All the staff is great! The front desk agents are VERY hospitable and do an excellent job.

We stayed there again in November 2019 and Front Desk agent Ilima is an outstanding employee. She takes a genuine interest in the guests needs and is very socially interactive, while still providing great guest service. This is our second contact with her this year, and each time she has left us with a great HIlo Seaside experience. She is definitely an asset to your organization. She was very accommodating as usual, and made every effort to assist us in creating a pleasant an enjoyable stay for us. We also had a very pleasant experience with Judy.

It is employees like Ilima and Judy that keep us as regular guests of the Hilo Seaside and we regularly refer many of our friends and family to stay here as a result.

Housekeeping was great too.

The rooms are usually very clean, comfortable and quaint..The hotel is recommended for its staff and overall hotel presentation.

Hilo Seaside is the way to go!

To me, it was a beautiful Resort, though they call it a Hotel. Beautiful courtyards and gardens surround the suites/rooms. When we walked in it was pure authentic Hawaii (nothing commercial or hokey here)! I almost expected Don Ho to come down the steps singing "Tiny Bubbles"!
The entire staff is so friendly & professional - you never knew if they were stressed - their vibes help keep the atmosphere relaxed and pampered. The rooms were perfect - with views of the gardens, pond, or pool. The beds were glorious! Almost made you want to stay in bed but Hilo has so much to offer. Best to Plant yourself in Hilo and then travel around the Island from there. The Hilo Seaside even has its own museum!
Forget Kona, if you go there stay at the Kona Seaside if you do, so you get good service & prices, but Kona is commercial & touristy. Hilo is historic, romantic, and friendly. The resort has free bikes to use (next time for us). This is perfect for just popping downtown.
When you rent a car, which is necessary to enjoy the rest of the Island, you can do beautiful road trips and get the attractions checked off...you will be happy you have your beautiful accommodations at the Hilo Seaside, with excellent food at their own restaurants, and some really great restaurants within walking distance. In the evening this is great because the Hilo Seaside is surrounded by beautiful historic gardens, parks, and beaches. Which makes for a romantic stroll with the brightest stars you will ever see in the sky at night!
Was it a coincidence? Or did I really hear Israel Kamakawiwo'ole singing "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" & "What A Wonderful World" whenever I walked through the lobby?
I will be sure to check when I go back... :)
