Nice uptown location, but heating is an issue

by AJWISLER

The property is situated conveniently to uptown, rooms are clean, and the view from the 18th floor is nice, but was it ever cold! In our room, we did turn up the heat, but the rest of the hotel---the restaurant and bar, the lobby, even one of the ballrooms where we had an event to attend----COLD! Is it because of the high ceilings or due to rush hour during the day when commuters get off the light rail and come through the hotel on their way to other locations? Doors open as commuters pour in. Seated in the hotel bar at night, it was not a cozy atmosphere, but chilly. The whole time I ate and drank, my nose was cold. The restaurant should be closed in to make it more inviting and warm. When you spend over $100 for a room, I do not expect to have to wear a coat and scarf indoors. Other than it being drafty, we enjoyed our stay. We were in town for an event at the lovely nearby convention center where it was warm!

I was very pleased withe the hotel. The location was convenient to all that uptown Charlotte offers. . I would recommend the hotel if your are in town for a football game minor league baseball game or to check out the art district.
