Amazing Staff!

by Kim W

As I sit here a few days after returning from Augusta for a wedding, I am still thinking about the wonderful service we received from the staff at the Augusta Hilton Garden Inn. We had people that came in from all over the country to stay 3-4 nights and everyone commented about how helpful and pleasant the staff was. Even the staff that you would pass in the hall would smile or say hello. Mya checked us in and was smiling when she greeted us and very clear when explaining the amenities of the property. Sometimes the front desk gets so used to saying the same thing day after day, they rush through too quickly, She received some teasing from the male members of our group throughout our stay and she just smiled and laughed and took it all in stride. Also, even though Mya was done with her shift at 3pm one day, she stayed to try and help me find a lost sweater that was left in the lobby the previous evening. Definitely above and beyond. Although we didn't eat dinner at the Hilton, each evening our group was at the lobby bar or over in an area that was a bit more private with seating and a fireplace. This was a really nice area and I hope the Hilton doesn't get rid of it in the remodel. Michele, who was at the desk overnight couldn't have been more accommodating. She was very approachable for anything we had questions about and even took it upon herself to present a birthday card to the father of the groom. Michele was also very patient with some of our party that may have been having a little too much fun. She has a great sense of humor also! The breakfast is definitely worth paying the extra money for. It consists of the usual buffet but also has wonderful fresh cut fruit which changes every day and homemade grits and oatmeal. If you don't see anything you like, there is a chef who will make you anything that is not out. We had omelets, eggs any way you liked, pancakes and thought it was great that they even took the time to make the presentation on the plate look yummy. Laura was absolutely the best hostess I have ever encountered. She treated us like her family from the moment we got there. No matter how busy she was with other guests, she made sure we were sitting together or near each other as everyone staggered down. She knew our names quickly and fussed over us making sure we knew everything we needed to know about that mornings offerings. She also made sure to ask us about our day and how we were enjoying our stay each and every day. Laura probably sees hundreds of people a week but we felt like she was taking care of us like we were guests at her home. Tara was a very attentive server as well. She was very pleasant while serving us and never let our coffee cups get dry. Tara served us several days in a row and we had absolutely no complaints about her service. I would also like to compliment Mae. I had an issue in my room (something I did) and Mae took care of it immediately. I didn't have to wait several hours nor did I have to remind anyone. She was absolutely amazing and I never got a chance to thank her. Next time I visit Augusta, I will definitely stay here again. Its "Southern Hospitality" at its best!

Wasn't happy with customer service

Housekeeper was very rude, made nasty comments when she seen me and my kids going to the pool area, I guess because she knew she would have to clean up after we left. She went and told the front desk that we were having a party. Hair in the tub. The beds were comfortable..location close to a lot of things. Washington road is in walking distance. The front desk man named ahydie was the best thing about this place. He was warm, friendly, and informative.
