Do NOT stay here

by Jmdlbd

The sheets on the bed had NOT been changed after the last guest. Hair and little specks of dirt were in the sheets when I pulled the covers back to go to bed. There was also no mattress pad. I called the front desk and they sent a man who handed me a stack of sheets. I asked him to change the sheets. (He was very nice.) He put the duvet on the floor, changed the sheets but not the pillow cases. I asked for new pillow cases as well. He returned with the pillow cases, changed them and put the duvet from the floor back on the bed. All this while I (a woman) am in the room, alone with him.

The parking lot behind the hotel was icy (from snow that fell seven days prior. Had not been cleared in over a week). Had to traverse the icy parking lot with my 73 year old mother in the dark. Why does this suburban hotel charge $7 per day for parking if they do not clear the parking lot?

These problems were all addressed by management but these are NOT problems I should have faced in the first place. I do not expect a stay a Hilton Garden Inn to not be fancy but I do expect it to be clean and safe. It was neither.

Minor housekeeping problems: the bathmat was not replaced, the coffee pods were not replaced, the faucet was not wiped down the second day. I noticed housekeeping does not prop the room doors open while they clean as is typical in other hotels. Finally, the entire hotel smells like breakfast cooking 24 hours a day.

Don’t stay here.

Excellent Staff

by Austin11110

It is a nice hotel, with good cooked to order breakfast. Go early while the breakfast buffet is fresh and you won’t be disappointed. However, it is the staff are what make this hotel highly recommended! I was there with my wife and infant son and they took care of us better than any other hotel I have been to. Thank you!
