One of the better hotels in Missoula to stay in for the Girz game - a little more expensive and farther away from the stadium - but sometimes that is nicer. The rooms are clean and roomy. could use a little updating.
We had an issue during a recent visit that needs mentioning. A guaranteed credit card reservation was made 4 months ago. We checked in online and chose our room as we had done in past visits. We received a digital key emailed but it had a different room number than the one we checked in. Around 5 p.m., we checked at the desk first and were advised the billing system went down and room was checked out but was already occupied. We no longer had a reservation. Or, it went to the highest bidder! We ended up being rebooked into a less desirable room. After checking out, our email receipt reflected almost $60 more than original confirmation. We had to call to get it corrected. Being sent a digital key to the wrong room is a serious security issue. No apologies were received from front desk staff. Actually, one had to stop eating at the desk to help out the obvious new employee. This experience doesn’t speak well for the Hilton brand.

The Art of Smart Timing
In our opinion, Missoula, Montana is a four-season vacation destination. However, the summer and winter seem to be the most popular seasons. The Clark Fork River is filled with kayakers and fly fisherman year-round, and Montana Snowbowl is a quick 10 miles away, where families can mountain bike, hike, zip line, and ski.
Missoula International Airport is under 10 minutes from the Hilton Garden Inn Missoula. Please note, however, that there are limited direct flights into this airport. The most common connection seems to be through Denver International Airport.
We recommend renting a car to get to this hotel and around the city of Missoula in general. Sure, the downtown area is walkable, but this hotel is definitely a drive down I-90 from there.
