Excellent Visit!

by StillTravelingOn

I visited the Hilton Garden Inn in Rochester on my way across the US by train to break up my trip. I arrived in the evening and reached out to the hotel to see if there was a shuttle, and they picked me up at the train station. I’m not sure if this is always an option, but it made my arrival really easy! The hotel was located downtown, and the staff members gave me directions to a local BBQ restaurant. I happened to be there on the weekend of the Rochester Twilight Criterion, and the Lilac Festival. Both events were fun! I would recommend. The room was clean and really spacious! It had a fridge and a microwave as well as a coffee maker. I slept so well, I snoozed right through breakfast, so I can’t report on that. But I did use the laundry facilities - they have one washer and dryer, but they’re quick (I did two loads). And they had quarters available for purchase at the front desk, washer/dryer for $2 a piece. I got a late check out easily, and with one exception, every staff member I interacted with was pleasant, friendly and helpful. I would totally stay here again! It was excellent! Really, the friendly staff made it great.

Could have been better!

Late checkout was a problem (even though I was told on the phone it would not be a problem), breakfast cost $12.95 which was pretty expensive for underdone eggs, deep fried (too much) bacon, dried out sausage and frent toast that had no flavor. Price was high due to the city location but I would have expected more as well.
