The Hilton Inn at Penn isn’t just located near the University of Penn in Philadephia; it’s also just 20 minutes from Philadelphia International Airport, and within walking distance of shopping and restaurants. (We highly recommend a visit to Distrito for Mexican tapas!) You can also dine at the hotel’s restaurant, Penne Restaurant and Wine Bar, which serves delicious Italian cuisine in a cozy atmosphere. Highchairs and kids’ portions are available for little ones.
Other perks at this University City hotel include complimentary Wi-Fi, complimentary breakfast, and guestrooms and suites with iPads, DVD players, and mini-fridges. Cribs are available upon request.

I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of this hotel, especially given its affordability. The entire hotel was quite clean and modern. My room was a very generous size, giving me lots of space to do yoga in the morning. It had a nice chaise lounge on which you can watch the large screen TV with its many HD channels (including Golf!). The large window in the room overlooking the university did a better job than I expected of keeping the street noise to a minimum. The room provided a fridge, safe, and a tablet which makes things like ordering room service a snap.
The bathroom was nice with a decent walk-in shower in good working condition, and a really nice sink. My only nit-pick here is that counter space is very modest so you don't have a lot of surface to spread out your bathroomy things.
The bed itself was not quite as firm as I like, but it was good enough and came with an assortment of pillows that ranged from soft to firm. I slept very well for the most part.
The hotel does not have a pool, but the fitness centre is nice. It is a good size with plenty of cardio machines, all in good working order, and free weights and some machines.
All in all, highly recommended.
Everyone was so helpful and nice--beyond expectation, from Robert the Valet, Concierge Nicolas, Leon at The Living Room (lounge) to Lorraine at the breakfast buffet—professional and top notch. What was over the top, however, was when the weather outside was icy rain and freezing temperatures, we decided at the last minute to take a taxi to the University Hospital for our appointment rather than walk several blocks. Jason (bellman) called for the taxi. However, someone else who was there before us got it. Jason then called for another cab but it was taking too long--so he RAN up to Chestnut Street a block away, in the rain, and hailed a cab for us there and sent it over to the Inn to pick us up. We could not believe our eyes!
Thank you Jason! And thank you Robert, Nicolas, Jailyn, Leon and Lorraine for your good service.
