We have stayed at many Holiday Inn Express Hotels over the years. We are ihg rewards members. This happens to be one of the worst that we have ever stayed in. When we checked in, the service desk was very friendly and accommodating. The room was on the musty smelling side. I noted that things did not look as open or spacious as they might in some of the other rooms that we have stayed in. We were there for 3 days with a group of fellow travelers. During those 3 days our amenities were not replaced. I'm talking about cups and some of the cosmetic items and the glassware in the room. The room was not vacuumed as there were little pieces of paper that we noted on day 1 and they were still there on day 3. The room temperature was a bit confusing trying to regulate between the wall and the actual air conditioning unit itself. We had a difficult time trying to adjust that temperature and over the 3 days we were really not able to.
The hotel staff at the front desk was wonderful. They have a marvelous shuttle that will take you to various restaurants or sites in the area and that is very convenient. The hotel staff also was able to order pizza for our large group of 37 people.
The breakfast area was cramped for morning breakfast. It was difficult to negotiate a plate , a plastic lift for eggs, then another cover for eggs and then a spoon all while holding your plate. There was no place to put things down and then scoop out your sausages , eggs or whatever. For all 3 days the breakfast was exactly the same no variety which would have been a nice change. I was very disappointed in this particular holiday Inn express and I would recommend you stay away.
Was in town for the Old Car Festival at The Henry Ford and Greenfield Village. This hotel isn't next door but is a handy place to stay if you are visiting the museum. The rooms were comfortable, the breakfast area was very nice and the food was hot. (Always like the cinnamon rolls.) We were warmly greeted a special request was taken care of. A nice part of our overall stay in Dearborn.
