My family and I stayed at Holiday Inn while visiting Arches national park and this place turned out to be perfect aside from a blip that happened when we arrived which I will mention at the bottom. This Holiday Inn is within 1 mile from the park entrance, has great size rooms that are clean and also has free breakfast and it turned out to be a perfect selection.
When we first arrived on Aug 28, there was a complete black out in the town and the hotel was completely dark. All electronic systems were down so we had provide our confirmation which they were not able to verify but we ended up with our room just fine after completing some forms. Once we received our keys, we had to lug our luggage up the stairs to our room (we had several bags because we were moving through 5 national parks) and the emergency lights were out which to me made things a little insecure. I really questioned if there were some safety issues and also thought of cancelling my reservation but we arrived so late at night that everyone was tired and we wanted to just lay down. Things turned out ok because lights were back on at midnight but this doesn't give the hotel (a commercial enterprise) an execuse for not having plans in place for safety including have emergency lights being out. Lastly, one of the employees mentioned that this has happened before about a year ago... so I would imagine that a good operator would have some generators? Not sure if I am asking too much here.
So given there are no blackouts, this place was perfect.
The rooms here are very spacious and up to date. The beds and pillows were so comfortable! The staff was extremely friendly and location was perfect. The breakfast was only mediocre. I would stay here again.
