Overview

This beachfront property has 164 rooms and is located next to a golf course. Families can spend days on the beach, or they can find other nearby activities such as golfing, sailing, snorkeling, biking, hiking, surfing, kayaking, boating, shopping, or fishing. At the hotel, guests will find an outdoor pool and tennis courts. Guestrooms for families have two queen beds and can accommodate up to four guests. Free Wi-Fi, cable TV, refrigerator, private bathroom, sofa bed, and air conditioning are included amenities. Cribs and extra beds are available. Guests can eat at the three onsite restaurants, or at one of the local restaurants located less than a quarter mile from the hotel.

Newish Hotel with decent views

The recently-opened Holiday Inn is a solid competitor among Mazatlan's weak hotel offerings.

As a platinum IHG member, I was happy to get up upgraded to a suite on a high floor. View is very nice. I was somewhat taken aback by not being offering complimentary breakfast, and that was the primary reason, truth be told, we moved on to another hotel for the rest of our stay.

Hotel could use more hands-on management. Room was not properly made up with some remaining trash, TV remote not working, not bath mat, etc, etc. Clearly, it really hasn't earned the "resort" classification yet, but hopefully will move in that direction.

This is not the best stretch of Mazatlan beach, as it gets nicer as you move (even another 10-15 min by car) outside the city. So that is also something to consider. Bar on roof is nice.

Perfect Stay

This is the second time staying at the Holiday Inn. This hotel is in a great location and near walking distance to many restaurants and shops. I enjoyed the pool with the amazing view of the ocean. Mario our waiter was AMAZING. Next time in Mazatlan I plan on staying at the Holiday Inn again. It does not disappoint.
