Originally built in 1986, the Hollywood Beach Marriott was taken over by Ocean Properties in 2005, when it was rebuilt and received its current name. The hotel received additional renovations in 2010. Today, the hotel is part of Hollywood Beach’s thriving tourism scene, welcoming families to come and enjoy the beach year-round. Located right by the city’s popular Hollywood Broadwalk-a 4-mile-long boardwalk along the beach, the hotel overlooks the beach and Atlantic Ocean.

This full-service property offers all the amenities families could want in a beachfront hotel: spacious accommodations, onsite dining, family activities, and a great location near the many sights and attractions Hollywood Beach has to offer its visitors.

Quick getaway

by TravelPamVB

My husband and I stayed here on a Saturday night when we had tickets to see Sting at the Seminole hard rock casino. The hotel was beautifully renovated. The staff was friendly and helpful. We were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary and had a beautiful room overlooking the ocean. When we got back to our room, there were chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of champagne waiting for us. The Sunday brunch buffet was great, with an omelet station. The hotel sits right on the boardwalk along the ocean. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to coming back.

Family Activities

Beach

The beach is accessible directly behind the hotel. Guests simply walk out the lobby door, turn right and walk out to the beach. Chairs and umbrellas are available for rent from third-party vendors. Water sports rentals such as kayaks and jet skis also are available via third-party rentals. Although there is a lifeguard station with flags designating water conditions, there is no lifeguard on duty.

Pool

The Hollywood Beach Marriott has an outdoor swimming pool located behind the hotel. It is located within a gated area, so guests must use their room key and wear a resort bracelet (provided at check-in) to access the pool facilities. The pool measures 3 feet deep in its shallowest end and reaches a maximum depth of 6 feet. While there are many lounge chairs, side tables and umbrellas, they get taken quickly during the pool's peak time - between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. The area usually clears out in late afternoon as people head inside for the dinner hour. Bathrooms are located within the pool area for quick access. Towels are provided in the pool area, but are allowed onto the beach. They must be returned to the pool area after use. Complimentary fruit-infused water and fruit slushies (referred to as smoothies on the resort amenities card) are available daily in the pool area.

Pool hours are 8 a.m. to dusk daily. All children younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult. No outside food, drink, coolers or glass is permitted in the pool area. Smoking also is prohibited. There is no lifeguard on duty at the pool.

Hot tub

Located within the gated pool area, the hot tub is 3 feet deep. Towels are provided for guest use.

Bicycling

The hotel maintains a fleet of bikes available for guest use for free on a first-come, first-served basis. There are three kid-sized bikes, and helmets are provided. Per Florida law, cyclists younger than 16 must wear a helmet. Guests can bike along the Hollywood Boardwalk that runs between the back of the hotel and the beach in a specific bike lane. All bike rentals are for a two-hour period.

Family Dining

Latitudes Restaurant

Located on the main floor behind the hotel lobby, Latitudes Restaurant features indoor and outdoor dining spaces. Not surprisingly, the outdoor dining space is the most popular except during bad weather. There are a number of tables located under a roof, with a limited number of tables with umbrellas just outside the covered area along the Hollywood Broadwalk.

The breakfast menu includes traditional favorites like eggs Benedict, buttermilk pancakes and steak and eggs. Buffet options also are available. The restaurant features the same menu for lunch and dinner. Menu items include seafood, soups, salads, pizza, sandwiches and burgers, and entrees like strip steak, chicken, pasta and salmon.

There's also a separate kids' menu (on an activity sheet) for children ages 4 to 10 with the usual kid-friendly fare. Breakfast items include French toast, pancakes and a combo platter with eggs, hash browns, fruit and breakfast meat. Lunch/dinner items include pizza, hot dog, hamburger, cheese quesadilla, chicken fingers, grilled chicken and mac and cheese.

Latitudes Tiki Bar

Although listed as a separate dining option, the Latitudes Tiki Bar is actually just the bar area of the Latitudes Restaurant. It shares the same lunch and dinner menu as the restaurant. Happy hour drink and appetizer specials also are offered from 4 to 7 p.m. daily.

Coffee Bar

Inside the hotel just adjacent to the lobby, the coffee bar offers a selection of coffee drinks and other beverages like soda, juice and water. Snacks and ice cream are available for purchase. In addition, guests can order one of five specialty pizzas (margherita, three cheese, BBQ chicken, meat lovers and spinach and goat cheese), or build your own.

Lobby Snacks

In the lobby, fruit-infused water is available all day. At the front desk, guests can receive complimentary snacks such as chips, granola bars and fruit.

The Art of Smart Timing

As a beach destination, the Hollywood Beach Marriott experiences high occupancy from November to March, with the smallest crowds onsite between July and Labor Day.

Coinciding with the hotel's high and low seasons, the best time to experience great weather at the Hollywood Beach Marriott is during the winter, when average high temperatures are 82 degrees Fahrenheit with low humidity. The summer brings average high temperatures of 90 degrees Fahrenheit with high humidity levels. Of special note, hurricane season runs June through November each year, so bad weather can affect travel plans during this timeframe.

Getting There

The Hollywood Beach Marriott sits along Florida's east coast between Miami and Fort Lauderdale. The Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is approximately 6 miles away, and the Miami International Airport is 26.5 miles south. If arriving by car, take Interstate 95 to the Sheridan Street exit. Head east to A1A, and turn right. The hotel is one-half mile down on the left.

Getting Around

Although the Hollywood Beach Marriott does not provide complimentary shuttle service, guests can get around Hollywood Beach via the Hollywood Trolley, which has a stop in front of the hotel. Running every 30 to 40 minutes, the trolley fare is $1 per ride, per person, and children younger than 5 ride free. For guests with their own car, getting around Hollywood Beach is easy; however, public parking is available only in paid lots, except in downtown Hollywood Beach, which offers free street parking.

For Mom and Dad

When the parents have a few minutes of treasured alone time, head downstairs to Latitudes Restaurant for dinner overlooking the ocean. If quiet is preferred, ask for a table in the inside dining room. Afterward, enjoy a walk along the Hollywood Broadwalk or down the beach.
