A wonderful place to stay near Quito and the Quito Airport

by chuckm22

The Hacienda is set on a beautiful site with views of Quito, hiking trails, beautiful flowers, and most importantly exceptional owners, Daniel Cruz and his wife Jimenita go above and beyond expectations to make sure your stay with them is comfortable and enjoyable. We were supposed to stay at the Hacienda for two nights prior to flying to the Galapagos islands. We landed in Quito at the beginning of the riots in October and had to stay at the Hacienda four nights. Daniel took us personally to visit a hummingbird sanctuary in the mountains, made a bag lunch for us to enjoy during the trip and was very informative providing details about the area we were traveling through. The next day he had his son take us to a hot springs and hiking trail in the mountains. Both these trips were unplanned and Daniel suggested both to make sure we were happy during our unplanned stay. The breakfasts are very good and the dinners were excellent. The room was very large with a very comfortable king size bed, large bath and very nice sitting area around a wood burning fireplace.

A Hidden Away Airport Hotel

by VKAdventures

We spent our last night in Quito at this amazing facility tucked away amongst nature, yet only 15 minutes from Quito's International Airport. Our stay was extended to the following evening since our flight didn't depart until after midnight. The room was lovely, the buildings were impressive, food was good, and the owner was charming. Most of our time was spent outdoors, walking along trails by the gorge to visit the llamas, trying to capture photos of the many hummingbirds at the feeders, as well as numerous other colorful birds. Such an unexpected oasis made it difficult to say goodbye to Quito!
