If you are planning a trip to La Fortuna do not overlook Hotel Silencio. This is an extremely beautiful resort with beautiful grounds. The hot springs on the property are amazing, quaint, and not at all crowded like Tabacon, Baldi, The Springs or others in the area. All of these open their resorts to tours. Hotel Silencio’s are only for their guests. Although small, they are equally beautiful. We had their hot springs to ourselves! However, outside of their clean and beautiful villas, fantastic restaurant, great location with beautiful views of the Arenal Volcano, their best attribute is their staff. From Jouse, Alejandro, and Eliomar the entire staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They were great with my kids allowing them to go to their on site farm, collect eggs, ride one of their horses, learn about their organic farm (that supports their restaurant)... just an amazing experience!

My boyfriend and I absolutely loved this beautiful little hotel. The staff is just one of the many things that make this place really shine. They were so incredibly kind and helpful. Even going as far as to call people in the town nearby to try and track down my boyfriend's phone that he accidentally left in an Uber (We got it back!) They really went above and beyond to help us and even were able to arrange a birding tour that left earlier in the morning so that we could squeeze one in on the day we were leaving for our next stop. The grounds here are stunning, and the pools are absolutely wonderful. They have both a regular cool swimming pool and several that are fed by the hot springs of the town. Really nice when it cools off in the evening. There were lots of birds around the hotel, and they have a nice feeder outside the restaurant in the morning that attracts all sorts of feathered friends. The property also has a small farm that has chickens, donkeys, cows, horses, sheep, and vegetables. You can visit the farm and pet some of the animals as well! There is a spa on-site, which I didn't take advantage of this time but looked absolutely beautiful. They were running some really great sales on services since it was the offseason. Speaking of which, because it was the off-season we had the place almost entirely to ourselves. It made for a very relaxing stay. Our room also had A/C. I only mention this as it was a nice little break for us from the no A/C places we stayed for the rest of our trip. Which I also loved, but I am an American who lives in Texas and I do love my air conditioning...The restaurant is very good, especially at breakfast. Lots of fresh fruit (the best I had in Costa Rica) and many of the ingredients come straight from their farm. You can either walk into town or take a quick taxi. All very accessible. It also has a nice view of the volcano from the property. Can't recommend this hotel enough!
