Art deco room in a nice new hotel in a gentrified area.

by jsohmer

I loved this hotel and the room. The room was large. The bathroom was huge with a huge walk-in shower. The furniture and decorations so artsy. The staff was very kind and accomodating. The area fun to browse in with all sorts of shops and eateries.
There was a buffet breakfast downstairs that was reasonably -priced
It was a bit far from downtown.. a 20 minute bus ride with the 71B, but close to Shady side, and Oakland where so much is happening.
And best of all the price per night was under $100 .
All in all,my hotel stay and the whereabouts of it made me love Pittsburgh.
I would do it all again.

Don't park your car with the valet

by Aman S

While our overall hotel experience was fine and the hotel itself is nice, we had a horrible experience with the valet. Our car was brought back covered in bird poop! It was everywhere, all over the car, in the cracks of the windows, in the door handles. When we asked to speak to a manager, she was rude and dismissive and explained "birds fly" and they can't do anything about it. She took $20 off our bill. It cost a whole lot more than that for the multiple car washes we had to drive around and find and we had to have the car detailed back home. Not only is it unacceptable that they would take such poor care of our car but the customer service at the hotel was atrocious. We will stay at other nearby hotels when we return to the area.
