Adventures in Punta de Mita ????????????‍♂️????????????????‍♀️????????????

by 805BeachBums

My wife and I’s first surf trip to Punta de Mita...and we loved it : ) Couldn’t of picked a better place to stay. Nico and Mary were kind, informative, and laid back hosts :-) The room was comfortable and cozy w/ AC, fans, full kitchen, and fresh drinking H2O. 5 minute walk to the town. Ate at too many great places to mention hear, just ask Nico or Mary. We lucked out and caught a week long run of south swells. Surfed every day twice a day. Surf check from the roof top every day to two breaks, El Anclote and Stinky’s, which is literally right across the street from the hotel. Surfed at Punta Burros/La Lancha both which require a drive to and a hike in. Met some incredible people during our week there...we can’t wait to go back. Yewwww ????????????❤️

Great things come in small packages - Great Hotel with big views and even bigger Heart- can't wait to go back!

Hotel La Quinta del Sol is a gem in Punta de Mita. My wife and I brought our two teenagers for surfing, spearfishing and just all around beachin and had blast. Hotel La Quinta del Sol is a small hotel with a big view and even bigger heart. The location, rooms, and managers are great. Nico and Mary are the managers and they made us feel right at home even before we walked in to the hotel (they met us at the gate). They were more than happy to help arrange activities and recommend tour companies. And every time they were spot on. They are great ambassadors for the Punta de Mita area. The hotel is directly across from a great beach that has a private area with hammocks and shade for hotel guests. If the beach seems too crowded for your taste just take a five minute walk to more open sand. There is a surf break directly out front which was great for us to get in a surf before other activities. And if you are surfing make sure you hire a guide and boat and hit the point or La Lancha. And if you need lessons ask Nico and he will arrange it for you. The hotel has several boards and SUPs for rent through a partnership with a surf tour company. If you don’t like what they stock they can have other boards brought in through their partnership. So there is no need to lug your boards on the airlines and deal with that hassle. It is only a short walk to other town amenities and there are great restaurants all around – sushi, local flavor, pizza, any food you want. The rooms are really nice, comfortable, and well decorated. We stayed on the first floor which has a huge terrace and great view. The fact that all the rooms have an efficiency kitchen (stove, fridge, microwave, blender) is great for a change of pace for breakfast, lunch or dinner. And if you go fishing or spearfishing and snag a few it is always great to cook your own. Now the icing on the cake is the rooftop terrace. This deck has a huge grill, refrigerator, sink, blenders, tables, chairs, hammocks, covered area. Perfect place to unwind with a beer or marg and some grilled food after surfing or fishing. You can rent a golf cart, but I recommend renting a car. You can go more places and don’t need to hire a driver. However the bus system is pretty good, it just takes a bit longer. So remember some things to do….surf, go spearfish, check out Sayulita, and San Pancho, hit up the Fat Cat for a cruise, go for a hike, or mtn bike or just chill. I know you will have a great stay. I cannot wait to head back and when I do I want to bring some friends from home who will be just as impressed.

There are two beachfront restaurants located steps away from the hammocks, and both offer beachside service. Families will love this convenient location only steps away from the ocean and sand.
