Ok for emergencies, needs some TLC

by Luis K

During my stay I had no major issues, this was the hotel that was close by and very affordable.

Rooms are small, Dom lit and mostly clean, sheets and towels were clean as well as the bathroom.

There is no closet, only a few wire hangers and a wood shelf that in my case had some plastic shavings and the room had a slight cigarette smoke smell.

Only a small bar of soap is in the bathroom and there is no place to place your items as only two small glass shelves is all the area offered, since the bathroom is small I suppose there were not a lot of options. Staff is friendly and helpful.

It appears that it is being updated but a lot more is needed.

This place is ok in case of an emergency but I don't think I would stay there for more than a night.

Clean rooms, great wifi but no breakfast and a bit overpriced

We stayed here for two nights. Although it's slightly out of the centre it's easily walkable (10-15 mins to the main square) and we found this walk safe day and night - it's along a busy road with lots of people around. Room and private bathroom were clean, and the room was cleaned and the bed made every day. It was nice and quiet at night and we slept well. Wifi was excellent. The shower was good. However, the bed had a weird plasticky mattress, the sheets were very old and thin and kept coming off the mattress, and the pillows were very small and old.
Staff were good and bad! They arranged a taxi to pick us up from the bus terminal at 5am, which was very helpful. They also let us check in very early, but we had to pay an extra half day for this. We found their local knowledge a little lacking - they didn't know when museums were open, or which bus companies to use, etc. We wanted to visit the original Sipan site (not just the museum in Lambayeque) but they had no idea whatsoever about this!
Overall it's fine, and there don't seem to be many good options in Chiclayo. However, considering breakfast is not included, I think it's a bit overpriced for what you get.
