Overview

Located in downtown Lewes, Delaware, Hotel Rodney is an ideal hotel for families seeking to soak in the history of Lewes while also visiting the beach. Museums, restaurants, shops and historic houses are steps away from the Hotel Rodney, and the Lewes beach and Cape Henlopen State Park are a short drive away.

Built in 1926, Hotel Rodney is listed on the National Register of Historical Places and its antique restored décor is charming. The guestrooms and suites feature hardwood floors, black and white marble tile bathrooms and small closets. The guestrooms are smaller than the average hotel rooms, but families can compensate by requesting connecting rooms.

While the hotel has seen modern-day updates, including insulation in the rooms, sound easily travels through the brick walls and hardwood floors.

Reviews

Excellent old hotel

by jimdN877FI

Great location in center of town. Very nice up-to-date room. Has a small elevator that only holds 3 adults and is slow but it works fine. Staff was all very friendly and helpful. Has only 6 designated parking spaces on adjoining bank lot. The wall mounted HVAC unit is very quiet and works well but the remote control for it is very complicated so get instructions from desk.

you have to take the good with the infuriatingly bad

The hotel and the room we stayed in was a 8 out of 10. Very cute, perfect mix of old and modern, ac was wonderful, awesome HUGE couples tub and shower, very comfortable bed. The PARKING is a 1 out of 10. After a long drive to get the hotel, my gf and I had to spend an extra 30min looking for parking. the hotel provides at most 8-9 parking spots total. TOTAL. that’s ridiculous and unacceptable for the price of the room and quite frankly for ANY hotel. Yes there was an art show in town the weekend of our stay but that is irrelevant. there should be dedicated spots for everyone in the hotel. Its an issue of public safety just as much as convenience. After about 30min of driving around annoyed and exhausted, you’ll probably find a metered spot to park, but do not be a minute late paying the meter because the meter dick will be there waiting to give you a ticket. Def will not let it ruin the overall experience, but you do not want to have to deal with this stress on a relaxing vacation.
