Of the hotel's 48 rooms, 10 are deluxe rooms and two are junior suites. Family rooms offer two double beds to accommodate four persons in a larger room with dressing area. Rooms feature 40-inch flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, desks, minibar, safe, and hair dryer, and room-controlled A/C and heat.
Of the two junior suites, one is equipped with a king bed and the other with two double beds, and both featuring a sitting room with CD player. A grand suite featuring two bedrooms with a king and two double beds can accommodate six or more. This room features an extra-large sitting room, four TVs and two CD players.
The room was really cheap, and I think I got what I paid for. The location is so/so. Neither good nor bad. The lobby is pretty and the staff is very nice. But the bed was horribly uncomfortable- I could feel the springs of the mattress. And there were ants in the bathroom (though the bathroom was very pretty), and the walls are paper thin. I had the misfortune of having an older person next door who must have been hard of hearing, and also had insomnia, because I fell asleep to AND woke up to a very loud television blaring. If you are looking to save a few bucks, this hotel is a reasonable option. If you can afford to spend a little more, I would recommend doing that.
Wonderful support from the front deck for our family trip, especially when our daughter fell ill and we needed a doctor's appointment. They went out of there way to help us navigate the situation. Highly recommend this hotel as a home base for enjoying Barcelona.
The Hotel Roger de Lluria is specifically a city hotel, located in downtown Barcelona. Families won't find play areas, kids' clubs or even a fitness center at this boutique hotel. However, the hotel is located mere blocks from Ramblas, the Paseo de Gracia shopping district, and the Barri Gothic neighborhood, providing a plethora of restaurants, shops and attractions to visit by foot. City bus tours are available at the heart of Place de Catalunya, also a few blocks from the hotel.

Mirall restaurant is the hotel's onsite dining facility that provides a buffet breakfast from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m., and a seasonal, daily menu for lunch and dinners. Room service from the restaurant is offered between 7:30 a.m. and 11 p.m. Although a kids' menu is not available, children can enjoy burgers, pizza, chicken and tortillas, while mom and dad indulge in traditional Catalonian and international cuisine.
A grocery store is located within a block, to purchase snacks and drinks. Ask the hotel to empty your minibar so you can use it as a mini-fridge.

The Art of Smart Timing
Barcelona is located along the Mediterranean Sea, making its climate warm throughout most of the year. Summers can be hot and humid, making spring and fall popular times to visit. Winters tend to be the city's raining season.
A taxi from Barcelona's international airport will take about 20 minutes. A train from the airport leaves every 30 minutes and takes 35 minutes to Catalunya Square, which is just a couple of blocks from the hotel. If driving, follow AP-7 to Barcelona Centro, if coming from the north, or Barcelona-Gran Via, if coming from the south, and head to Roger de Lluria. The hotel is located in the middle of a block.
Families will find it convenient to walk to area attractions and restaurants.
For Mom and Dad
The adults can enjoy a nightcap at the hotel bar after a day of sightseeing.
