Overview

As the name implies, Hotel Secreto is tucked away on the northern tip of Isla Mujeres. With just nine guestrooms, this boutique hotel is more of a private beach house, one your entire family will love. A favorite amenity at the hotel, the 65-foot lap pool seems to reach right into the ocean. When you’re not swimming in or lounging by the pool, you can go snorkeling, tour nature reserves, explore the nearby Mayan ruins, or tour the island via golf cart, moped or bicycle. Plus, you’re just minutes from shopping and dining in Isla Mujeres. Back at the hotel, guests can stay in one of three room types: superior junior suite, deluxe junior suite and executive junior suite. Amenities include a safe, Linksys Wireless-G Access Point, plasma TV, Bose Sound Dock for iPod, DVD, bathrobes, hairdryer and iron and ironing board.

Spent 11 nights there in October. Beautiful! Every aspect of this boutique hotel is wonderful. Small, 12 guest rooms, 4 floors, all with spectacular views facing the Caribbean. Bright, sleek, modern decor. Totally safe and secure. Only entry to Hotel is with a key card. (Guests only) Quiet, serene. Beautiful private crescent beach. Beautiful pool and deck area overlooking beach and Carribbean. And, the staff is over the top accommodating, sweet and friendly! Loved it!!! Will definitely be back!

Where you need to stay in Isla Mujeres

Firstly, I had been travelling for 37 hours by the time I arrived. The hotel had arranged for me to be collected at the airport and delivered to the ferry. Stayed for 3 nights and slept really well. An excellent location, away from the teeming masses of package tourists, the beach (although not for swimming) it's great to listen to and look at. Best of all was that I lost my new iPhone at some point while at the hotel. Being a little jet lagged, I didn't have much of a memory. Only discovered the loss while in Cancun (I have 2 phones). They searched until it was found. Being black, it was at the bottom of the safe and wasn't seen. The staff organised for it to be taken to the ferry and a driver picked it up in Cancun and delivered it to me in a matter of hours. Can't ask for better service than that!
