Overview

This boutique hotel in historic downtown Seward has an old-fashioned feel, but with all the modern amenities you’ve come to expect. There are two separate wings to the hotel. The newer is The Alaskan Wing, which features spacious, elegantly decorated rooms and ultra-comfortable pillow top mattresses. Two queen beds and a rollaway would be ideal for a small family. All rooms contain a refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, free Wi-Fi and other amenities. There’s no free breakfast, but the onsite restaurant, Ms. Gene’s Place, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner in a quaint Victorian lounge.

The hotel is in the heart of downtown Seward, within walking distance of many restaurants and shops. Two blocks away is the famed Alaska Sealife Center, the state’s biggest and best aquarium. Seward is a kick-off point for day trips to Kenai Fjords National Park and Holgate Glacier, with a wide variety of reputable tour operators in town and on the waterfront. With its downtown location and historic ambience, the Hotel Seward is a fun choice for your family adventure to Alaska.

Seward is a small town--not much to do

by Hiker1114

We stayed on the older side of the hotel and there are 2 flights of stairs--no elevators--stay on newer side if you can't lug your bags up and down. Rooms are configured a little oddly. Some do not have private bathrooms. Overall, clean but dated. We had scheduled to be picked up at the cruise dock at a set time and they never came. We had to call and wait over an hour. That was a little annoying. Easy drop off at the train the next day though. Very willing to hold luggage for the day while we explored. A simple place with basic bed and bathroom.

A peal of all hotels :)

I ended up in Seward Hotel randomly and I have to say it was a wonderful coincidence . It is very cosy, super friendly staff and unique interior design . I couldn’t have chosen a more special place for a great stay
