Weekend Getaway

by unusualgem

My 2 sisters and I booked 3 rooms at Inn on the Harbour for a one night stay and really enjoyed it. We have stayed there before a few times over the years and we have had a wonderful stay each time. The staff are very attentive, warm and friendly and do anything to help make sure you enjoy your stay. I booked the Oriental Room and was a little concerned due to the fact that it is on the main floor and the deck is just outside but it was quiet and I had full privacy. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. The Canopy room and Leopard rooms are both lovely as well. We had a delicious breakfast at the Telegraph House across the street. I highly recommend this Inn if you are looking for comfortable, clean, well decorated and spacious rooms in the shopping district of Port Stanley. Thank you staff (including Sarah who was a joy to deal with, and the housekeeping staff who were so friendly and worked hard) for making our stay so enjoyable.

Lovely inn in quaint fishing village

We stayed in the Leopard Room with a view of the harbor. We were only there for one night. The bed was comfortable and room clean and well appointed. The sliding door opened onto a balcony which overlooked the patio area. Fortunately they were not extremely busy so the sound of people below was minimal. The only complaint with the room was that the TV was mounted next to the bed so it was difficult to lay in bed and watch it. We did not take advantage of the breakfast but did eat across the street at the Telegraph House which was very good. Apparently the man who owns The Inn on the Harbour also owns The Telegraph House (another B&B). Port Stanley is a quiet harbor town and I would have wanted to spend more time but we chose it because it is directly across Lake Erie from our house in Ohio.
