Good Value

Stayed here for four nights and found the rooms to be large, clean & comfortable. It is a little bit away from everything , so if you don’t have a car you will need a taxi to get around. There are a couple of restaurants close by and the restaurant in the hotel is very nice but not open every night. Staff provide prepared lists of where to find restaurants, wineries etc other than that and while friendly they did not seem to be able to provide further information if asked, didn’t get my wake up call on last day which could have been a disaster & when I queried it was told by the night staff that there was no record of my request ...however this hotel is very affordable compared to some of the other accommodations available.

Never again

Although I had no problem with the hotel itself, the staff were a different matter. We arrived in datkness as the power was turned off in the region. We were given the option of a refund or accept the temporary situation and, in the miserable receptionist's words " I'm sure the manager will give a refund for the inconvenience". This we accepted as we didn't want to go searching for another hotel.

I won't bore you with all the little grievances we encountered but, suffice to say, from the Manager down the staff (with the exception of the young lady in the bar in the evening) were as miserable as sin and most unhelpful. I did manage to get a $100 refund but had to screw it out of him. However, the total for a 2-night stay was $850 so he wasn't giving much away. I have stayed in the Waldorf in New York for less!
