Top Notch Quality and Service

by TNsoccer07

My wife and I stayed at Kindred Spirits for 5 nights from September 8-13, 2019. Our stay was made so much sweeter by the professionalism and quality displayed by the owners and staff of Kindred Spirits.

Quality can be assessed during normal circumstances, but the true test of genuineness shines through during adversity. Under adverse circumstances (post-Hurricane Dorian destruction and power outages), KINDRED SPIRITS SHINED THROUGH WITH AN A+++.

THOUGHTFUL!!! - On our way from the Bay of Fundy in NB, we exchanged emails with Becky (owner) about our upcoming stay because phones were disconnected throughout most of the island. Becky informed us that there way no power in Cavendish, that the inn was operating during daytime hours with a generator, and that the generator was located literally outside the window to our Room #1. Given the conditions, Becky and Dan offered us to stay in a cottage throughout our stay due to the noise disruptions that would be caused by our proximity to the generators at no extra cost. Although being in the cottages and without connection to the generator (meaning no electricity or warm water), we simply spent the majority of our first few days exploring the beautiful countryside and shorelines of PEI. The staff had also set up a charging station within the inn so that even those staying in the cottages could charge their devices during the day.

BEAUTIFUL!!! - We found our first night that the green fields at Kindred Spirits make for a spectacular location for viewing the Milky Way and shooting stars - especially under a mostly non-illuminated PEI sky (thanks to power outages). The Kindred Spirits grounds are also meticulously kept by the staff, including French Canadian groundskeeper Guy who was a joy to chat with. Just two days after Hurricane Dorian, you wouldn't be able to tell there was a storm based upon the lovely green grassed areas clear of debris. By the end of our week, the staff had worked with contractors to address the remaining tree that had fallen or snapped near the cottages.

DELICIOUS!!! - We found our first morning that the Kindred Spirits breakfast is truly a "no brainer." If you stay at the inn, it's complementary. If you stay in a cottage, it's worth the extra cost. I don't believe my wife and I have ever consistently eaten such wonderful breakfasts over the course of a week. I cannot express enough how exciting your day can begin with the delight of a Kindred Spirit breakfast - it made each day in PEI even more enjoyable.

RELAXING!!! - We found that the front porch of our cottage was the perfect place to read a book early in the morning or under the warmth of a sun and blue sky filled PEI afternoon. After 3 days when the power came back on, we were able to also enjoy the warmth of the hot tub on our cottage's back deck, From there we could hear the faint babbling of a small brook immediately behind our cottage.

CONVENIENT!!! - We found that Kindred Spirit's proximity to many great hot spots made it easy to enjoy Cavendish by foot. We opted to walk to Anne of Green Gables house in the morning - what a fun way to arrive in the world of Anne! We also enjoyed the easy access to PEI National Park and local restaurants.

We had been anticipating our vacation in PEI for quite some time, knowing our stay in Cavendish would be likely be a main highlight of our trip. I'm not so sure that we anticipated our lodging experience to be such a big part of our magnificent experience, but Kindred Spirits certainly became just that - a highlight of the trip.

When we return to PEI (which we are already chatting about with excitement), we have no doubts where we will stay. We simply cannot imagine a place demonstrating such top notch quality and service as Kindred Spirits demonstrated to us. We are fans! :)

To the staff at Kindred Spirits - thank you for making our trip that much more special! You went above and beyond, and we are so grateful.

Great location in Cavendish. Highly recommend!

by CanadianRose85

My friend and I (females in mid-30's), stayed here for two nights while we were visiting PEI in early October. We stayed here on the last weekend they were open... but you couldn't even tell. Service was top notch.

Rooms /bathrooms are clean and beds are comfortable. We stayed at "the Inn" so we had breakfast included. It was delicious!

Location is hard to beat!

We recommend checking out Blue Mussel for lunch or dinner. It is about 15 minutes away in a town called North Rustico. Fabulous decor and food!

We will be back!!!
