Room Information

Find the Best Price for Your Stay

All accommodations are equipped with free Wi-Fi, iron, ironing board, hairdryer, clock radio, and a flat-screen TV(s). There are also outlets next to the beds -- a perk we always appreciate when traveling! All lakeview rooms have patios or balconies with a small table and two chairs. Complimentary cribs are are available, and rollaway beds come standard in suites and cottages.

Accommodations come in five configurations:

Double Queen Standard

This room has two queen beds; choose between a city (parking lot) or lake view.

King Standard

This unit has a king bed and a sleeper sofa or a chair and ottoman. You can choose a city or lake view.

Family Queen Suite

Up to six guests can sleep comfortably in this room, which offers two queen beds and a sofa sleeper. It also has a kitchenette and a rollaway bed.

Family King Suite

The King Family Suite has a king bed and sleeper sofa -- similar to the Standard King room, but with more space. It also has a kitchenette and a rollaway bed, and can sleep up to five guests.

Two-Bedroom Suite

This room provides more privacy and space than the others, with two separate bedrooms (each with a king bed) and two bathrooms. It also has a living area with a sofa bed, a kitchenette, a dining area, and a balcony with pretty views of Storm Lake. The Two-Bedroom Suites can sleep up to eight guests (with the addition of a rollaway bed or crib).

Sunrise Cottages

The Sunrise Cottages are another great option for families, with all the comforts of home. Each cottage can sleep up to seven guests, with three queen beds (one in one bedroom and two in the other) and a king sleeper sofa bed in the living area. The best benefit is the fully equipped kitchens, where you can prepare your own meals. (Tip: There's a Walmart Supercenter nearby for stocking up on groceries.) We also love the gas grills and fire pits at each cottage. Cottages feature lovely views of the lake, too.

Reviews

A place to lay my head.

Internet was horrible. Cellular signal was more reliable and faster. Television user interface is difficult at best. HBO, the only premium channel has no guide, so had no idea when anything was on and it was the worst picture quality of all the channels. Shower was cramped and curtain hung so high, water sprayed onto floor creating a slip hazard. Entire hotel needs updated, from the lobby, to rooms.

Great stay. Big, clean rooms.

Have worked in the area on a number of different occasions and recently stayed here for the first time during our 4th phase of work.

Didn't have a lake view, but also stayed very cheap due to off peak season. Big, clean, modern and spacious room. No microwave though.
If they had a continental breakfast option besides the Regatta resturant located with in the hotel, that would be great.
Regatta room service was great (and faster than eating downstairs at it.)
Disappointed there wasn't a pool/hot tub outside of waterpark area. Not sure if there even is one, as it (waterpark) was closed and open for limited weekend hours.
Property is well maintained. Hotel staff was great.

Family Activities

Water Parks

It's all about the water parks at King's Pointe!

The climate-controlled indoor water park is open year-round. Kids will love the waterslides, splash playground with zero-depth entry, floating lily pads, lap lanes, and adjacent indoor climbing wall. A unique slide is the Electric Eel, on which riders design their own virtual experience from a touch screen at the top of the slide. As you descend the 291-foot raft ride, you will see and hear storms you created, as well as bears, sea creatures and sharks!

The indoor water park is open every weekend, but availability is limited on weekdays during the school year. Be sure to check the online water park calendar before you book your trip.

The outdoor water park is generally open Memorial Day to Labor Day, weather permitting. Here, kids can swirl around the giant Splashbowl Slide, take a raft ride, race on speed slides, frolic in island sprays, jump off of diving boards or swim laps.

Weekend guests receive complimentary access to the water parks; just keep in mind that the parks are open to the public and can get very busy.

Pirate's Pointe Miniature Golf

The resort has its own 18-hole mini-golf course! It's $6 for ages 5 and up to play; kids under 4 are free.

Nearby Activities

Bike rentals are available at Lakeshore Cyclery and Fitness Inc. We also recommend a visit to the AWAYSIS Lighthouse (within walking distance), where you can climb to the top for fantastic views! You can also go swimming and fishing, stroll the walking paths that surround the hotel, and let the kids climb on the playground that's located at the foot of the lighthouse.

Family Dining

The Regatta Grille

The Regatta Grille is set right on the shores of Storm Lake, with large windows allowing for great views of the water. In the summer, the patio is a great place to watch the sun set. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and welcomes guests of the hotel, along with the public.

Breakfast offerings include egg dishes, pancakes, biscuits and gravy and French toast; the lunch menu has soups, salads, sandwiches and pizza from the wood-fired grill; and the dinner menu adds pasta and entrees such as wood-fired salmon, stuffed pork chop, rib-eye and lobster mignon. A kids' menu includes chicken strips, kid-sized burgers, and macaroni and cheese.

Room Service

Don't feel like visiting The Regatta Grille? Order to your room! Room service hours are 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. for breakfast and lunch, and 5 to 9 p.m. for dinner.
