Unfortunately I made a very unpleasant experience at Le Meridien this month. Despite being a regular visitor of Marriott hotels and having stayed at this place several times before, the hotel declined a room to me because of an over-booking situation. This was very unpleasant esp. after a long intercontinental flight.
Even worse, the hotel was well aware of the situation (they had prepared a booking a another hotel in the region), but they did not care about informing neither myself nor my company about this situation upfront.
This is not the way of working I know from many other Marriott hotels - what a pity.

I decided to try the Le Meridian Hotel brand in Oak Brook, IL. It was a first and last time. I set the temperature for 66 degrees and the room never went below 76. After calling the front desk I was told the hotel has switched to the winter mode and the AC does not work and the room will not drop below the 76 degrees. The windows do not open so I basically slept in a sauna. I had a 3 night rsvp which I obviously cancelled the last 2 nights. Also, the concierge lounge is bare bones. I ate at the restaurant in the lobby and would not have eaten there again if I stayed the last 2 nights. I ended up booking a room at the Westin in Lombard, IL about 2 miles away.
