Hooray for this Hollywood hotel's restaurant

by oaktownboy_37

My wife and I had box tickets to the Breeders Cup at the Santa Anita Race Track on the first Friday and Saturday in April and were staying this time in a reasonable Pasadena hotel to be closer to the track. I had booked fine-dining restaurants on Thursday and Friday evenings, but had neglected to do so for that final night -- and found out absolutely every decent restaurant in the area was booked up well in advance. So we took an Uber half an hour to West Hollywood to the Le Parc Suite Hotel where I had stayed twice a year while visiting our daughter until she moved back east recently. The Knoll is the hotel's small restaurant where I had breakfast each morning on previous visits, but never dinner. I did phone ahead and made a reservation. My wife and I were both impressed with the quality of our late night fare. She rated her chicken and avocado club sandwich as amazing --two meals in one. My onion soup was excellent (as was my vodka martini) and the amuse bouche -- a small dish with an excellent fig puree and a great goat cheese which melted in one's mouth -- was a wonderful treat. Plus, an extra boost to my ego--our server recognized my face (if not my name) even though it had been six months since I had stayed at the hotel. EXTRA TIP: The hotel's outdoor pool is on the next floor right above the restaurant, and you can have your breakfast or lunch served up there, looking out on the Hollywood Hills.

Great Hub for Exploring Hollywood!

I recently spent 3 nights at this hotel with my wife and 2 children (12 and 10 years old) and we loved every minute. Our suite was spacious, clean and very comfortable and was well equipped with everything we needed. We especially enjoyed relaxing on the rooftop and taking in the stunning views as well as a fun game of tennis.

Our room had two huge flat screen TV's, a separate curtained off sleeping area for us (the kids slept in the living room area), kitchenette, balcony with seating area, bright spacious bathroom and a storage area, perfect for all our bags and cases.

The beds, pillows and linen combined perfectly for a great nights sleep. I usually wake up with a sore back when staying in hotels but not this time.

We had a breakfast package with our room and although the choices were limited, what we had was very good indeed. The dining experience was very relaxed and enhanced by the bright and sunny restaurant and very friendly staff.

This hotel was perfect for exploring Hollywood, and and only a short drive away from the walk of fame and Universal Studio's. The staff we encountered were all very warm and friendly and happy to help in any way they could. If you are looking for a starting point for a Californian road trip or simply looking to enjoy Hollywood and all it has to offer I cannot recommend this hotel enough.
