TripAdvisor Rating

A boutique hotel in York, Maine, The Lighthouse Inn & Carriage House offers an outdoor swimming pool and complimentary Wi-Fi. Its best asset, however, is its quiet location just steps from equally quiet Long Sands Beach.

Guestrooms were updated in 2014 and 2015, and include several variations that are ideal for families. Rooms in the Carriage House are best for adults, with only one queen bed per room.

Mixed feelings, there were some good things and some disappointing features.

“We were within walking distance to Long Beach and within close driving distance to other attractions, town and a lot of good restaurants, but there was no ocean view. The room was clean and spacious. The door, which opened to the outside had a big gap under it. A windstorm came up during the night and we had to stuff a bath towel under it to cut the breeze. Our room was on the second floor and the stairs were a little steep and narrow, especially with our luggage. The breakfast was okay with some options. The parking was a little tight.

Great location

My sister and I decided to have a sisters getaway along with my service chihuahua Bella. The first encounter with staff set us back for a moment when asked by a man "you're checking in with her?" Pointing at Bella. My sister replied that she had notified them when making the reservation. There were no further issues with Bella. The inn is nice and no frills clean rooms and comfy beds. The water took a while to get hot in the morning but as soon as it got hot it was super hot. The fridge was a bit noisy but a nice convince to have. The common door that leads to the porch could close a bit quieter as every time it closed we jumped and or woke up. The continental breakfast was okay, it was nice to have the hard boiled eggs and cheese. We would stay here again on another getaway.
