Excellent stayover

by Connoisseur1222

Longlac is this small community on hyway 11 that links west and eastern Canada. It will soon be travelled bu many tourists. L'Oree des bois is a small hard to notice Motel in Longlac. Its worth finding as a perfect stop over in your travels. The rooms are huge. The place is very clean. The beds are super confortable and the TV is topnotch. Above all its reasonable. I was travelling alone and paid $84. You cant miss.

a cold night

by L0laE13

The clerk was friendly and helpful when we checked it. The room was extremely dated, chair and carpet were stained, towels and bedding were thin. We had to push a cooler against the fridge door to keep it closed. I am not really a picky person so can live with that kind of stuff. However, it had been a cold, rainy day. As it got later, the room got cold. I attempted to turn on the heat but it did not work. I went to the office to ask for the heat to be turned on but it was closed. There was a sign on the door saying that they could not be there all the time and to call a number. I called it and got voicemail. I left a message but no one got back to me. I ended up sleeping in sweat pants, hoody and socks to try to stay warm. There were no extra blankets. The only upside was that there was lots of hot water so I could warm my cold achy body in the morning. I wanted to complain in the morning but when we hit the road, the office was still not open.
